A horrifying Vaginal Torture Device from middle ages

I do believe in reward and punishment method when it comes to teaching a child about good and bad. However, torturing is altogether different from punishment. I came across this device from middle ages used to torture those whom the authorities considered blasphemous including both male and female. At first site, I didn’t find it brutal sort of thing, but when I read about the procedure and saw the video, it shook me from inside with terror.

Imagine inserting a pear shaped device into the vagina and then expanding all the four petals by screwing. That means tearing the skin away. For male homosexuals, the same procedure was applied. Instead of vagina, the place to be torn used to be the anus or mouth. Have a look at the video below for the demonstration and then tell me guys how did you enjoy imaging a sight full of horrifying cries and bleeding?

I watched something on medieval torture devices on the History Channel or NatGeo, this was also supposedly used to break the jaws of heretics. But when they tested an exact replica, it wasn’t strong enough to actually do damage, the metal bent pretty quickly.

Find the sickest forms of evil and torture done my humans and see what’s behind it most of the times: religion.

Agreed. This was probably used to “scare people straight.”

Wait, what does a baby do to the vagina?

  6. Brian White says:

Why do we call torture “the third degree”? In the good old days, merely questioning a suspect was the first degree. The second degree was, a professional showed torture devices to the suspect, and explained in detail what they would do. The third degree was actually USING these torture devices.
BTW, in the 1400′s, a cardinal, Nicholas of Cusa, proposed that all Christians should renounce torture as a means of propagating Christian charity, compassion, and benevolence.
